Senior Project Engineer
As a Junior Partner at Valentine, Samantha brings over a decade of experience in water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades and infrastructure improvements, including lift stations, sewer lines, and waterlines.
She has been a key engineer on projects across Central Coast California and the Monterey Peninsula, where she implemented pump station and pipeline designs and developed detailed system operations descriptions to support water supply reversals.
In Tempe, Samantha led the successful retrofit of all municipal lift stations and is currently managing construction for PFAS treatment and the equipping of Tempe Well 20.
She also supports the team with subconsultant and vendor coordination, engineering calculations, cost estimating, specification development, and construction administration. Samantha’s technical expertise, collaborative approach, and leadership make her an invaluable part of the Valentine team.
Human life relies on the availability of clean water and thus is an essential part of our lives. In some countries, finding clean water is a continuous concern, but here in the USA most are blessed with access at our leisure due to the workforce of people (such as operators) who use their time and energy to care for the water/environment. Taking care of our water has become exceptionally important due to anthropogenic pollution and accompanying research discoveries on the adverse health effects of these pollutants. As such, the field is always changing with developing treatment technologies and challenges to address. The network of water/environment stewards are exceptional to work with and deeply care about finding solutions to these challenges. I enjoy being a part of this water stewardship helping to engineer solutions for the present, but also for future generations. In the words of Helen Keller, “”Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
