At Valentine Environmental Engineers (VEE), community service is more than a company initiative; it’s a core part of our culture. Each year, especially during the holiday season, our team dedicates time to giving back to local organizations that make a meaningful difference. This season, we were proud to continue our annual tradition of volunteering at St. Mary’s Food Bank, an organization whose mission and impact inspire us every year.
Supporting a Mission That Matters
Founded in 1967, St. Mary’s Food Bank is widely recognized as the world’s first modern food bank. Today, it remains one of the largest and most impactful hunger-relief organizations in the United States.
Their mission is rooted in a powerful idea:
Providing nourishment for today and hope for tomorrow.
Through partnerships, donations, and the support of thousands of volunteers, St. Mary’s Food Bank distributes millions of pounds of food every year to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Their work ensures that communities across Arizona have access to essential food supplies; and that no one is left behind during difficult times.
This mission resonates strongly with us at VEE. As engineers, we work every day to protect, improve, and sustain the environment. Supporting the well-being of the communities we serve is a natural extension of that purpose.
Our Volunteer Experience: 998 Boxes Packed, 29 Pallets Completed
This year, our volunteer team worked in the packing production area of St. Mary’s bustling distribution warehouse. Side by side with other volunteers, the energy was high as we packed food staples, sealed boxes, and stacked pallets destined for families across the region.
By the end of our shift, VEE helped complete:
- 998 packed food boxes
- 29 full pallets ready for distribution
Each box may be small, but together they represent hundreds of households receiving much-needed support, meals on tables, stability during uncertain times, and hope during the holiday season.
