Scottsdale Water Campus WRF & Gainey Ranch WRF Blower Replacement

The City of Scottsdale owns and operates two water reclamation facilities:

  • Water Campus WRF
  • Gainey Ranch WRF

Valentine evaluated the process air use and energy consumption at these facilities and compared the existing power consumption to the more efficient high speed turbo blower technology.  Retrofit of the existing centrifugal blower technology to turbo blowers was estimated to:

  • Save $125,000 annually at the Water Campus WRF
  • Save $80,000 annually at the Gainey Ranch WRF

City of Scottsdale acquired Valentine’s services to design the blower retrofits. These retrofits were funded by American Resource and Recovery Act stimulus funds which covered the entire $1.2MM project cost. The project has completed construction and is in start up stage.

The City and Valentine Environmental Engineers worked with APS to receive a rebate estimated at $500,000.
